Name of Band – Gowan and Cross
Where does the name come from? Mark and Merv met and started a band called Zenith back in 1979. They joined forces as songwriters and decided that Cross and Gowan sounded like a tin of soup.

Names of members of the band and instruments played – Mark Gowan on acoustic, electric and bass guitars. He plays mandolin, piano and keyboards as well. Mark also sings lead and backing vocals. He’s a goddamn one man band!!!

What has been the highlight of the 2006 for you? Having the facility to write, record and produce songs at our own pace. We never tire, only in the summer when it’s too hot to breath! Global warming?
What does xmas mean to you? January’s credit card bill.
What was your best ever xmas present/memory? Getting snowed in at a recording studio in North Wales. Our keyboard player said that a polar front was due and we should consider going home. We told him to f**k off…24 hours later, no munchies, no booze! Keyboard players eh?…Think they’re soooooo smart!
Who is your musical inspiration? I don’t think people are really that arsed to be honest.
Where do you see yourself in ten years? Just like today…………….Happy.
What are your plans for 2007? Plans? Ha Ha!
Best venue in Cornwall? Got to be Newquay Rowing Club, without a doubt!!!!
